Lisa Jaynes

Lisa Jaynes, Chairman
Lisa, Director of Finance at the Family Abuse Center, provides extensive knowledge of the community and a variety of experiences with local nonprofits. She was instrumental in developing a transitional housing facility for homeless women and children and oversaw a six-county referral network for social service agencies. Lisa has been named a Hometown Hero and has received the Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year Award.

Jim Haller

Jim Haller, Vice-Chairman
Jim, Executive Vice President of First National Bank of Central Texas, brings significant financial management and oversight to the Waco Foundation Board of Trustees. He is a long-time member of the community, previously serving as the head basketball coach at Baylor University and Athletic Director at McLennan Community College. Jim is also involved in a variety of philanthropic activities and serves on the board of several area nonprofits.

David Dickson

David Dickson, Secretary/Treasurer
David, a founding partner of Beard, Kultgen, Brophy, Bostwick, Dickson & Squires, LLP, has thirty years of experience in representing businesses and individuals in real estate, bankruptcy, commercial litigation, estate planning and probate matters. His knowledge has allowed him to become a real presence in our community as he serves on many boards including the McLennan County Tax Appraisal District and the Tax Increment Financing District boards.

 

Sam Allison
Sam Allison is the president of SEASWA, L.L.C., which manages Family Limited Partnership. He is also the vice chairman and co-founder of CTW, L.L.C., which owns and operates 18 Wendy’s restaurants located in Central Texas. Sam is a member of the Waco Business League, a board member of KWBU and a member of the Leadership Council of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. He and his wife Sharon have been married 49 years.

Betty Bauer

Betty Bauer
Betty brings extensive nonprofit experience and knowledge to our board of trustees. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology.  She is the Chairman of the Family Selection Committee for Habitat for Humanity and has served in this capacity for almost 10 years.  She also serves on the boards of Communities in Schools, Caritas, MCC Foundation, WISD Education Foundation and Planned Parenthood, to name a few.  Betty and her family  mentor a 6 year old boy name Phillip who is a previous Talitha Koum student.  Betty has been honored for her volunteerism by several organizations, and she continues to be an asset in our community.

Steve Cates
A native Wacoan, Steve brings his vast experience in management and finance to the Waco Foundation.  For the past 15 years, he has served as President/CEO of Met Life’s wholly owned subsidiary, Texas Life, which is headquartered in Waco. His board service has included the Public Improvement District, Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity, and the United Way.  He and his wife Darlene have involved themselves in many activities of the community.

Cara Chase

Cara Chase
Cara, an attorney for Naman, Howell, Smith and Lee, contributes expertise in elder law, estate planning, probate, guardianship and trust law to the board of trustees. She is a frequent lecturer to professional and community groups and is the past President of the Waco-McLennan County Young Lawyers Association. Cara is involved in a variety of philanthropic activities, serving on the board of many nonprofit organizations and volunteering at her daughters’ school.

Kyle Deaver
Kyle is a partner in the law firm of Deaver and Deaver. He is also the co-owner of Harley-Davidson of Waco, an owner of American Guaranty Title, and an owner/director of American Bank.  Kyle has served as chair of the boards of St. Paul’s Episcopal Day School and Vanguard College Preparatory School.  He and his wife Diane have volunteered in many local civic and youth organizations.

Kris Kaiser Olson
Kris grew up in Waco, attended Waco public schools and earned a B.S. in Education from Baylor University.  Her work as an advocate for children and families spans across board service with organizations such as Texans Care for Children, Planned Parenthood of Central Texas, the McLennan Community College Foundation, and the Advocacy Center for Crime Victims and Children (to name just a few).  Kris is married to Charles D. Olson, an attorney, and they have two adult daughters.

Maggie Stinnett

Maggie Stinnett
Maggie Stinnett is the Probation Casework Supervisor at the Bill Logue Detention Unit.  Before beginning her career, Maggie was well known as a popular basketball player for the Lady Bears.  Maggie continues to be involved as a supporter and coach of local basketball civic leagues for children.
