Mission
Our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives and future of the people who live in Waco and McLennan County through grant making, promotion of community philanthropy, and support of the not-for-profit sector.
History
Waco Foundation is a non-profit community foundation trust established to receive gifts, bequests, and donations to be administered for the benefit of the people of Waco and McLennan County. The Foundation was founded in 1958 with a gift of $30,000 made by R. B. Parrott and, in 1993, substantially endowed by $14 million from the Stephen Goldstein estate.
Grant Making
Grants are awarded twice a year from unrestericted and field of interest funds to deserving 501(c)3 nonprofits whose services benefit the citizens of McLennan County. Discretionary grants are awarded twice a year.
Grant Resource Center
The community grant writer program, which began in 2001, assists McLennan County nonprofits in accessing funding from outside of the county and is a collaborative partnership between Waco Foundation, the City of Waco, and the Waco McLennan County Library.
MAC Scholarship Program
Started in 1995, the MAC Program provides tuition to deserving graduates of McLennan County high schools.
