About Us
The Capacity Building Program assists nonprofit organizations in McLennan County by supporting them in the intentional investment of time, thought, resources, and effort so that they can improve leadership, management, fiscal responsibility, skills, procedures, fundraising, and human resources in order to increase impact and sustainability.

Eligibility for Services
Any 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in McLennan County is eligible.

Components of the program include:
  • Partnership with academic institutions, Nonprofit Network,
spacer Association of Fundraising Professionals, and other interested
spacer parties to provide training in key areas such as organizational
spacer management, grant writing, and fundraising.
  • Collaboration with Waco-McLennan County Library to maintain the
spacerNonprofit Resource Collection and grant research databases, and
spacerpresent workshops about how to develop a nonprofit organization.
  • Development and maintenance of the McLennan County Nonprofit
spacerResources website, which offers significant online training and
spacerresources for nonprofit staff and volunteers.
  • Facilitation and project development assistance to organizations that
spacerare collaborating to meet a specific need in the community.
  • Feedback on grant applications to organizations actively seeking funding.
  • Consultants to provide specialized assistance to organizations that
spacerare implementing high impact projects.
  • Nonprofit memberships to Grantstation, an online grants database
spacerand training center.
